There are a number of obstacles to establishing a vibrant online community, the most significant of which is attracting players. Planet Poker has established a reputation for being the first and most-trusted poker cardroom on the internet. Innovative marketing has been one component of their success.
From branding to website design to advertising, Hot House has been involved in the marketing of Planet Poker for many years. We have designed game graphics and produced the worldwide advertising campaigns used to promote Planet Poker.
Continuing a long-standing relationship, Planet Poker approached Hot House in 2005 to develop and implement an advertising and direct mail campaign targeting potential online poker players to its site. Targeting a young audience, the ads used aggressive copy and strong imagery to establish their message. We coordinated all aspects of the project, including copywriting, design and mailing.
The client was happy with the way the direct mail design reflected its existing brand. The campaign was a considerable success, with the client reporting a 2% response rate from their US names and a 3% response rate from Canadian and European contacts. This is above the average response rate, which the Direct Marketing Association has reported as 1.88%.
